Chinchilla sand

What gerbils need-  chinchilla sand


Gerbils,  being dessert animals,  do not require 'baths' to keep clean.  They groom themselves.  
However,  in order to keep their fur from getting oily/messy,  a sand bath will be needed!
You can just use chinchilla sand for this.  Keep in mind though that there is a difference between chinchilla sand and chinchilla dust.  The dust may cause respiratory issues,  so try to find the sand instead.
Often times,  only dust is sold in pet stores-  you may need to order sand online.
