"Boxing"

Behavior-  "boxing" with each other


If you have more then one gerbil living together (which you should!),  you may have noticed them "boxing" or "wrestling".  Before you worry and think they are fighting and declanning,  don't worry!  Gerbils play-fight frequently,  and it is nothing to panic over whatsoever.  They may get on their hind legs and box,  or knock each other over and wrestle a little.
Gerbils can,  however,  fight seriously and declan,  so you should know the difference.  See "Fighting" under "Behavior".
