Behavior-  licking the glass


At some point,  you may see your gerbils licking the glass walls of their cage.  (assuming you have them in an aquarium)  Gerbils do this when they're thirsty,  so check the water bottle!  It could be the bottle stopped working or ran dry,  and that is why the gerbil is licking the glass.

Its a good idea to check water bottles at least twice a week!
