Well,  it's about time I update the status!

Pippin,  Marbles,  and Sammy all went to their new home earlier this summer.  Silvie,  Snickers,  and Probsy also found another family a couple months ago.
That left me with Pixel and Minty,  Parsley (Penelope passed away this summer),  and Pepper and Maggy.
But before long,  Pepper and Maggy will be going to a new home,  too.

Pixel and Minty,  both being roughly three years old,  are still doing quite well.  Minty seemed to have an external ear tumor,  but now it's gone.  She's not as active as she used to be,  and neither is Pixel,  but they're both still friendly and curious.  Cardboard just lasts a little longer than in the old days.

Parsley has now lived alone for a couple months.  I don't like keeping gerbils alone,  but I didn't really have any other option with her,  and she seems to be okay with it.  And of course,  I'll be able to introduce her to the next loner,  should Minty or Pixel pass away soon.

There are no plans of breeding again in the foreseeable future,  though I often miss having those rambunctious pups around!

Gerbils available!

I currently have eleven gerbils,  and with some of the other things going on right now I'm finding that my hands are quite full!
So, I'll be looking for good homes for a few gerbils.
I'll be giving away Pepper and Maggy,  and possibly my male trio-  Pippin,  Marbles,  and Sammy.  All of them are well-tempered and healthy.  And they will come with their cage (20 gallon aquarium) and accessories,  such as water bottle,  wheel,  etc.
As I've said,  I'm in the Black Hills area of South Dakota/Wyoming.  Willing to drive a little to meet.
If interested,  or if you want more information on the gerbils,  please leave a comment!

An update on everybody!

Pepper's second litter is now 5 and a half weeks old.  There were four pups,  but one of them,  the runt,  died a couple of weeks ago.  He had been weak and extremely small from day one,  and little Skittles passed away January 16,  2015.
His three siblings,  however,  are quite healthy and energetic!  The two girls,  Silvie and Snickers,  are a Sapphire and Snickers is black.  Their brother Sam is also black,  with bright white paws.
Pepper and Maggy are doing well,  Maggy has grown a lot and is as big as Pepper now.
Maggy:
Skittles:
Sam: (on top)
Silvie:
I'm afraid I don't have a better picture of her,  but Snickers is in the middle:
Shortly after Skittles passed away,  Mento,  Macaroon,  Millimeter and Metric from Pepper's first litter all went to their new homes.
Marbles,  however,  stayed with Pippin:
Everybody else is doing well also.

And finally,  I'll just mention that Silvie and Snickers will be needing new homes soon.  If interested,  please leave a comment!

Pepper's second litter born!

Pepper's second litter arrived 12/14/2014.  Four pups,  looks like two or three of them will be black.
Pepper is not stressed out the way she was with the first litter,  and Maggy (one of her older pups) is doing a good job of helping.

Gerbil pups available!

I currently have a litter of six pups that will be ready to go to new homes in about two and a half weeks.    There are five males and one girl,  but the girl and one of the males will be staying with me.
I will only give out in pairs or trios.
There are three Sapphires and one black.  The parents are healthy and well tempered.  I handle the pups daily to ensure they will be tame.
I live in the South Dakota/Wyoming area of the US,  so if anyone nearby is interested please leave a comment.
Thanks!

Welcome to the Gerbil Journal!

Hi!  My name is Anna,  and I'm a sold gerbil owner.
I've owned gerbils for a few years now,  and have recently undertook breeding them.  I've done a ton research,  and learned a lot from my own gerbil experiences,  so I decided to make a blog dedicated to helping other gerbil owners.
Here you will find all sorts of information on gerbils-  their behavior,  how to introduce,  gerbil care,  what you'll need,  and more.  You will find the links to these pages on the right.
I will also post updates on my own gerbils,  and perhaps other things as well,  in the middle of the blog,  or where this is.
If you have questions,  I would love to help!  Leave a comment!
Thank you!
